We often think of winter months as a season to persevere through until the bright lights of spring appear – but there’s actually lots to love about this season, particularly when it comes to food.

In the kitchen, we’ll be looking in the British Isles for Penny Bun Bolete (ceps), Chestnuts, Quince and of course continue with great game meat.

Get ready for the return of our famous fish finger sandwich, available again from Monday to Friday 12pm to 4.30pm – we will change sandwich every week! Our Chefs team have also been busy preparing new bar snacks – available all day!

IN THE CORAVIN THIS MONTH

A Coravin is a stand-alone wine preservation system that works on a similar principle to an enomatic machine. This way, we can preserve wine usually sold only by the bottle, and you can try it by the glass.

Shannon and the chef team have put together a four-course menu for you to savour the deep, rich flavours of game meat. Starting with Buttermilk fried Rabbit leg, Tarragon & Bacon Mayonnaise devised by our chefs, we follow with Venison Carpaccio followed by Pheasant cooked two ways. Our celebratory dinner is rounded off with Creme Caramel.

The sommelier team have devised a wonderful wine flight for the evening, which you can choose as a pairing with your meal.

For Christmas & New Year’s Eve, the pub will be open for fireside drinks with semi-private dining spaces available for festive celebrations.

We have a traditional Three Course Christmas Party Menu available throughout December for you to book in advance of your reservation.
